NADEEM AKBAR KHAN
Nadeem holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and has 25 years of engineering and management experience in Pharma, FMCG, Foods and Ice Cream with major multinational companies. He has worked in senior management positions as Director Sales, Director Customer Services & Logistics and as Factory Manager for Unilever Pakistan. Under his leadership Unilever Pakistan won the Global Supply Chain Excellence Award for Unilever in 2007.
Nadeem has played key roles in mergers of Polka Ice Cream and Brook Bond businesses into Unilever. He has strong background of operations as well as general management. This unique combination gives him an edge and the ability to design and implement projects with the end-user requirements being fulfilled competently. Nadeem also provides consultancy for development of Sourcing/Manufacturing strategies in various sectors. He played a leading role in the merger of Best Foods sales and distribution set up into One Unilever sales structure, first as head of Customer Services and later on as Director Sales.
Naeem is a supply Chain professional with an outstanding academic record and functional expertise of all supply chain functions. He is a PhD in Supply Chain Strategy, MBA (LUMS) & BS Mechanical Engineering (UET) and has over Twenty years of hands on experience in project management, strategic planning, cold chain management, and procurement, manufacturing, quality, distribution and working capital reduction, FMCG, Food and Cement Industries. He has worked with Unilever Pakistan as head of Supply Chain Planning and as Supply Chain Director for Savola Edible Oils Tehran. Naeem is considered to be the Pioneer of setting up integrated supply chain systems and organization in Pakistan.
Kanwer Anwer Saeed
Kanwer has 18 years of experience in HR transformation, shaping up ‘people’ strategies, performance and talent management, employee relations and leadership development. Previously, Kanwer was working with Engro Corp as Director Human Resources for its subsidiary, Engro Foods. He has also led the HR function for its Fertilizer Business. Prior to this, he was with Unilever Singapore in the capacity of Talent Director for Asian Geography, following number of years with the organization in Pakistan. Kanwer spent early part of his career with the banking industry.
Kanwer is passionately involved in the development of the HR profession in Pakistan and have launched various initiatives to build and develop an HR fraternity throughout the country. He is the Executive VP of PSTD (Pakistan Society of Training & Development) as well as an Executive Committee Member of the Pakistan Society for Human Resource Management (PSHRM) along with being a frequent panelist at HR conferences and meets.
Kanwer holds Masters degrees in Business Management (MBA) from LUMS and Public Administration (MPA) from QAU, Islamabad.
Akram has dedicated over 30 years of his life to manufacturing excellence. He has worked with major multinational companies operating in petrochemical and food industries. His core area of expertise is automation and control. He has successfully designed and implemented a number of automation projects.
Having worked in the projects and maintenance departments for many years, he moved into operations management and worked as an Operations Manager with Unilever for more than five years.
Akram has the distinction of being pioneer in successfully implementing TPM in a Unilever. He is considered to be the best JIPM trained instructor in Pakistan. Ever since, manufacturing excellence initiatives have become his passion and he is truly considered as an expert in this field.
Naeem Akbar Khan
Naeem is Licensed Marine Engineer from Pakistan Marine Academy. He has over 20 years of sailing with PNSC, Iranian Shipping lines under his belt and a stint as power house manager for Rupali Polyester for 2 years. He is chartered Chief Engineer. He has won many medals and awards for his excellent handling of ships with Iranian shipping lines. He is also an expert on IC Engines and related power plants. He joined SCBS in 2011 to lead the Eurofins Business in Pakistan. Since then he has increased the business many folds. His core competencies are hard work, discipline and integrity. His documentation and administrative control provides the back bone to SCBS operations.
Through his sailing days he brings in a vast knowledge of all five continents.
MUHAMMAD AMJAD (CPIM)
Amjad brings with him the 15 years of experience heading the Procurement & Supply Management of two of Pakistan’s largest multinational FMCGs as well as heading implementation of ERP (SAP) and Business Systems (Ariba, D7i & MP-2) across large scale cross-country manufacturing set-ups. He also has experience of transforming tea manufacturing units as manufacturing head strategically. He brought Capital Projects, HSE, SC Learning, Manufacturing Excellence functions under one umbrella for Unilever.
Amjad is a JIPM accredited TPM instructor, Du’Pont trained Process & Behavioral Safety resource, lead auditor in FWS (Audited Unilever Singapore & Pakistan). He is a specialist in the area of system audit/analysis & loss prevention strategies as well as in designing, implementation of structures, processes and systems across manufacturing and procurement. Also in change management and BPR (Business Process Remodeling) to suit the future organizational needs. He is a trainer on diverse areas e.g., Continuous Improvement, Business Partnering, Sourcing strategy PM, PSRM & Behavioral Safety.
Dr. Werner Nader
Werner is the managing director of Eurofins Global Control GmbH and has been associated with SCBS for the last 4 years. He is world renowned scientist in the field of analysis related Food Safety, Authenticity and Nutrition. He has extensively researched and worked in US and European markets. In the recent past he has been actively involved with developing food trade from India, Pakistan, China, Iran, Turkey, Ecuador and other developing and emerging markets. He is well in the Rice and dairy circles in Pakistan as a “friend of Pakistan”. Amongst other achievement he has played a very active role in reducing the Aflatoxin risks from Pakistani Basmati rice and pesticide issues related to Indian grapes. He is also certified IRCA Lead Auditor, FSSC/ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems.
Peter van Ouwerkerk
Peter is an expert in horticulture trade and logistics and comes from the commercial side. He has 45 years of experience in worldwide International Food Trade and faced and solved majority of the Pakistan similar issues in India related to Fresh and Processed fruits and vegetables. He is currently working on a project in India, setting up the supply chain for pomegranates considering both freshness and food safety issues. He has experience from working in Afghanistan, also shipping pomegranates. He has played an important role in establishing and functioning of I.D.A.T. “ Indian Dutch Agri Trade “ a program which can be transformed into a “Pakistan Dutch Agri Trade “ Key issues that he has worked on are Food Safety, Traceability, guarantee of execution of the made contracts, re quality and quantities, etc.
Akbar has vast experience of setting up quality systems. Over the last 30+ years, he has been associated with various local and multinational leading food businesses in Pakistan. He was quality assurance manager for Unilever, Haleeb Foods, Polka, Continental Biscuits. Akbar is also a certified Food Quality Auditor and Was HACCP expert for Unilever. He has conducted various local international audits for Unilever, Eurofins and SCBS.
For the last 4 years he has been instrumental in developing the Rice Export Control business for SCBS. He has helped big customers like Engro Eximp, MAP Rice, Reem Rice, Matco Rice and others in setting up reliable quality systems for their operations.
